He’s a very powerful card, and at his strongest in this format. Legacy has many decks that are simply to fast, and in standard infect existed when he was around. When do you bring him in? He is a strong card against decks like UR Twin and Tempo decks. Tasigur, Goyf, and Siege Rhino have all forced him out of the format. I first began playing Stompy and used to run 2 Thrun, the Last Troll in the mainboard, but in the actual meta, I’m using 2 Dungrove Elder instead and 1 Thrun, the Last Troll in the sideboard.

Magic Market Index for March 15th, Thrun is my all time favorite magic card of all time. Thrun, the Last Troll So what is the power level of this guy? Being that he’s sure to hit the board and isn’t going anywhere, Thrun also helps turn the corner into closing the game out rather fast. R Burn R Pauper Tempo: These days, because of the size of creatures in the format, he’s stronger on the defense than on trun offense.

Is such a rarely brought in card worth a slot when it isn’t a silver bullet? U W x uwr thrkn and stoneblade U W x Commander: He’s trlol not a card against Tron or the goldfish decks, and mostly worse than the other bomby options against aggro decks.
But in terms of offensive power or just raw value, there are cards that do a much better job. But in modern, in the current meta game, I don’t think he’s the format staple he once was. I laat began playing Stompy and used to run 2 Thrun, the Last Troll in the mainboard, but in the actual meta, I’m using 2 Dungrove Elder instead and 1 Thrun, the Last Troll in the sideboard.
Magic Market Index for April 12, Legacy has many decks that are simply to fast, and in standard infect existed when he was around. The number of decks that you brought Thrun in against was already small, and now it’s even smaller.
Thrun, the Last Troll
Magic Market Index for April 5, Scapeshift Thtun G Control: Burn R W G Combo: Its better to play keranos olivia, huntmaster, thagtusk etc. At the end of the day Thrun is th will probably always be my favorite magic card.

He is a strong card against decks like Lzst Twin and Tempo decks. With no uwr there is no incentive to play thrun. He’s supposed to be good against control. If you want Blue Control hate better run Lwst or Boil. Sure these cards with the exception of keranos have answers but these are much better haymaker plays than thrun is with control decks that feel more like midrange decks than anything. While he can’t run Tas over, he makes it very hard to lose to that gameplan again, defense champion here.
I know he’s definitely a huge pain for control decks, but where else does he shine and what other decks can’t stand him? If you run into the odd Grixis Control deck or Twin boarded into Grixis control then Thrun is a beast. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack.
